Who We Are

Green Mountain Madera is a Vermont based small business that specializes in handcrafted artisan wood products that are beautiful and functional.

Our products come from natural and sustainable sources in Vermont and the Northeast whenever possible. Many of our culinary products (bowls, boards and utensils) literally come from tree to table. We also work with exotic woods from regional wood suppliers.

A fallen tree may be one person’s problem, but to us it presents a tremendous opportunity to continue a tree’s life cycle by transforming it into new forms that can be enjoyed by our customers and their friends & families.

We strive to showcase wood’s natural beauty in our products. Wood grain tells a tree’s story and we relish the challenge of sharing its beauty with you and your families. From figured wood, chatoyance and complicated cross grains of limb junctions to the patterns created in spalted/ambrosia wood, we embrace the “perfect imperfections” that only nature can create.

We use food safe finishes in most of our products to provide utility with natural beauty. Unless otherwise noted, our products are finished with natural (non-toxic) oils and wax. Please review our care & maintenance guidance to preserve and enjoy your wooden treasure for the long term.
